Acid Trips on Parade

This week, the kids and I have been crafty! It started out with a harmless little bucket of straws, pompoms, string, popsicle sticks, etc., and turned into a color by number, sun catcher, beading extravaganza!

I'm such a kid, World. We bought a color-by-numbers book that says it is full of landscapes, but it really looks like someone outlined their acid-trips and designated colors for the rest of us to fill in. I'm completely addicted to it because when you start you mainly see a bunch of black lines on white paper, but as you go you start finding more and more shapes and objects. It's trippy! Plus the kids like to watch a picture emerge and then they color the version with numbers (there is always one version printed with and one without numbers).

Also, our activities are not without educational features. The color-by-numbers book had a page missing in the back, so the kids and I wrote a nice note to the company on some lovely stationary, asking them if it was a mistake and if they could help us get that last page (the version without numbers was missing). Whether or not the company responds, my kids will learn something valuable. I hope for the sake of the company someone responds. My kids signed the letter and everything; it would make the company look like real asses not to reply.

Give my son some straws and pompoms; he makes an AT-AT Walker.
